Welcome to My Kitchen,
I truly believe it is time to bring the whole family back into the kitchen.
Cooking with your family can be a very fun experience and the kids usually eat whatever they help to prepare. I hope you enjoy these recipes; each dish will be like a taste of back home.
I now reside in North America. But I still love my West Indian dishes. I have been cooking since I was twelve years old and have always enjoyed it. I still remember the first time I tried to crack an egg…lol.
I hope everyone develop a love for West Indian food and cooking. Cooking is a skill that blends creativity, satisfaction, nourishment for the family and pleasure .
My own joys of cooking can be traced back to Home Economics classes in high school and the time I spent with my mother in her kitchen. Just know that your cooking skills will never be wasted and you don`t need to be a TV chef to serve a decent meal to your family.
Sometimes mistakes are made when cooking, like a dish can be soggy when it should be crispy, dry with it should be moist or even over salted or too spicy. When it comes to cooking I always say “mistakes are too much fun to make only once”.
Take care and enjoy your meals.
Reshma Harry
